Engage with Alesong to Support Uplay Disc Golf for May
Eugene’s Alesong Brewing & Blending is pleased to announce their Engage with Alesong charity partner for the month of May: Uplay Disc Golf and looks forward to supporting Uplay’s mission of promoting disc golf as a fun, low-impact, easy-to-learn outdoor sport that offers a range of physical and mental benefits. Uplay strives to help people "Find Flight" through the inclusive and accessible sport of disc golf.
The partnership kicks off this Sunday April 30th at 1pm with a demonstration and educational event at Alesong’s Country Brewery (80848 Territorial Hwy) hosted by touring disc golf professionals, Zoe AnDyke & Dustin Keegan. There will be a temporary disc golf course set up onsite to enjoy throughout the afternoon. Bring family, friends, and discs if you have them (loaner discs provided by Uplay).
Additionally, Alesong will be hosting another demo event at their tasting room in the 5th Street Public Market on 5/23 at 5pm. A portion of sales from both events and from the sales all month long of Alesong’s Stonefruit Sonata, an oak-aged sour beer with nectarines will be donated to Uplay.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Uplay and supporting their work to spread disc golf in the community” says Alesong Co-founder, Doug Coombs. “And the timing really works out well to have a disc golf-centric partner leading up to the PDGA Masters tournament happening right here in Eugene at the end of the month!”
ABOUT THE ENGAGE WITH ALESONG PROGRAM: For the Engage with Alesong program, local organizations are nominated and voted on collectively by Alesong staff members to focus support to twelve different causes throughout the calendar year. Alesong will host these organizations for outreach events at their tasting room in the 5th Street Public Market each month and donate a portion of proceeds from a specific beer throughout the whole month to the organization.
ABOUT UPLAY DISC GOLF: Founded in 2017, Uplay is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide more opportunities for teaching disc golf. Spreading the word, fundraising, and organizing disc golf events helped to fund teaching programs in schools and educational organizations.
